Ice Occasions is the only full-time Ice sculpture business in Melbourne. Our patented carving machines offer the Best of a carving and also the Best of a mould format. The technology produces the most detailed of design (millimetre steps in a castle), absolute slow melting crystal clear ice and allow identical mass production. It all adds up to a magnificent detailed ice sculpture at an affordable price.

But we won’t stop there. Ice Occasion’s flexibility in ice is unparalleled. Not only are we home to the largest crystal clear ice carving block, (nearly 4 feet high) but we are able to accommodate various size blocks for carving ensuring the Best possible ice creation for your function.

Q2 What features should I look for in a quality ice piece?
No doubt when organising your function or event you will want everything to be perfect. This should also apply to your ice decoration There are four features to look for in a quality ice piece: clarity/finish, size, design and service.

Clarity /Finish Ice with a crystal clear “ diamond” finish is not the norm. Ice actually freezes white. A crystal clear finish can only be achieved by a carving or Ice Occasions’ world wide patented process. Ice Occasions are proud to offer our clients both the more popular crystal diamond finish and opaque finish (white) Upon request for that extra WOW we can colour the ice or provide specialised lighting. Size If you are using the ice sculpture as a feature, it should be as imposing as possible. In fact the bigger the better. Ice designs in the range of 90 to 100 cm (3.3 feet) will achieve a spectacular first impression. In our experience anything smaller melts into the background of obscurity. Our special request carvings are all carved from a 110cm crystal clear block or nearly four feet high. Design When only the best will do. We pride ourselves on our ice designs being life like. Whether it be a dolphin leaping out of the ocean or a one off design by one of our multiple award winning ice carvers your day is sure to be remembered long after the ice has melted.

From our initial contact with you to the final delivery, we are not satisfied until you are. We recognise that the best form of positive advertising is through word of mouth and referrals. We are here to ensure your event is the talk of the town!

Q3 Where does the melted ice go?
A unique drain tray is supplied to enable collection of the melted ice. A $110 deposit is required for each tray. The deposit is fully refundable on return/collection of the tray in an “as supplied condition”.

Q4. How long does an ice sculpture last for?
Ice Occasions uses sophisticated slow melting ice .Your ice sculpture is delivered with specialised thermal wrapping. This enables your ice piece to be kept in room temperature for a considerable amount of time without melting. Once removed generally speaking in an air-conditioned room of around 20-25 degrees Celsius, an ice sculptures “show life” will be approx.6-8 hours - in other words for a life of an average function.

Q5 Where would I place an ice sculpture? There is no right or wrong answer here, it is all a matter of personal taste. For a special event try these suggestions; • In a foyer during pre dinner drinks. • One side of the bridal table. • The middle of the dance floor. • For a balanced look either side of the bridal table (see price list 2 FOR deals). • A buffet decoration to dress up a seafood / cold meat banquets. • A small table piece of a theme for the night on each guests table. Q6 What is included in the price? As well as your chosen design, the price includes hire of our unique self contained drain tray within Melbourne Metro, professional set up at desired time and date. We also offer hire of additional trays if needed.

Q7. How long in advance do we have to order?
Once you have decided on your design we would ask for the drain tray deposit to be paid as confirmation of your order. (Even if your date is 18 months away) The deposit will lock in the price and day with us .The balance is due 10 days before delivery. Late orders are always welcome but deposit clients have priority.

Q8. How heavy are your ice sculptures?
This will depend on the sculpture you order. Carving Blocks are approx. 150kg before carving commences .Of our regular range our Vodka Luge or large Swan will weigh up to 60-70 kilograms. Our lightest would be our small Sorbet dishes at 2- 3- kilograms.

Q9. Can you design an ice sculptures for me not on the web page?

Q10 Will my ice sculpture be delivered exactly as it is pictured on this website?
Almost. Your sculpture will be delivered exactly as it is pictured on this website without the props used for photography.

Q11 What other features can you provide for my ice sculpture?
Ice Occasions are the ice specialists. Ice finish options apart from the more popular diamond crystal finish include opaque (white), coloured ice and lighting of the ice.

Please note you will have to specify with your order if you wish a finish other than the more poplar crystal diamond appearance.

Display options may include a 4 foot pedestal to accommodate a centre piece .
(Please note these are very limited and are only available for 2 for purchase for a nominal fee).
We are also happy to accommodate extra drain trays for banquets if needed for a nominal fee.

Q12 Give me a WOW idea in ice!
Option 1

A live ice carving performance. Whilst your guests are having pre dinner drinks let us carve an animal or your choice over an approx. 1 hour duration. Then we convert your finished chosen piece to a spirit luge. For the rest of the night guests can pour alcohol from the top of the ice piece and receive chilled at the bottom. Ahhh this is WOW in ice !

Option2

Multi block ice carvings. Let us assemble an approx. 6 foot ice sculpture of your choice. Ideas may include a lion or animal standing on hind legs complete with sharp claws and razor sharp teeth, or a major monument of the world like The Eiffel tower. For a Wedding an ice horse and carriage located in the foyer as guests arrive. Ahhh this is WOW in ice!

Option 3

Table decoration .Ice pyramids, swan and cannon champagne décor for guest’s tables look spectacular. Insertion of flowers, logos, messages or items to suit a theme leave an ever lasting impression. The possibilities in ice are endless. We would love to discuss your ice requirements

Ice bars with Corporate logos really make a statement. We can custom the ice bar size to your budget from 1 meter to 10 metres. Then we convert the ice bar to a spirit luge and guests can enjoy spirits flowing through the ice for the whole night. Ahh this is Wow in ice! Click here for enlarged photo
