1 tonne of Alice Springs - turn around 16 hours
The brief:
To help celebrate 100th birthday celebrations, an ice theme night was decided upon .The venue was to be in a Wildlife Park Alice Springs.
Consideration:
Heat. Shipment of the ice. Carving 1 tonne of ice on the day of set up. Turn around from start of the day to function completion 16 hours’.
Result:
3 staff members were flown to Alice Springs the night before the event .1 tonne of ice was transported to an Alice Springs depot by road transport. All the ice was carved in the early morning of the set up, then placed back into freezer truck and delivered to the venue. Set up commenced once the park was closed to the public.
Ice planes to fly
The brief:
The Australian Of The Year Awards was going to be a major show piece of people, but also sponsors wanting to expose there brand in a very completive field. That’s where Ice Occasions came to the tarmac.
Result:
Something big, something bold, something that would take peoples breath away.Something just WOW. Over 1 tonne of ice was used to create 2 awesome cargo planes. Each plane measured 2 metres long and 2 metres wide from wing tip to wing tip

Out on the road ice training
The brief:
Budding artists from country Victoria were interested in ice carving training, but could not travel to Melbourne.
Result:
The 6 artists pooled together to meet on 1 day. Ice Occasions met them in country Victoria with specially designed practice ice blocks. The session ran for approx 4 hours and was a terrific day for all.
French theme night for Bastille Day
The brief:
Ice Occasions was approached to design multiple spectacular ice sculptures to acknowledge the most important day on the French calendar.
Result:
A 5 foot Eiffel Tower and 80cm Arc De Triumph in ice were carved to compliment the French flavour night.
Table decorations Spirit Luge’s
The brief:
To create an elegant tall ice piece that looks sophisticated for a wedding but also functional for guest entertainment and interaction.
Result:
14 X 100 cm ice swans were created as ice luge’s and placed on each guests table. Guest were supplied bottles of there favourite spirit to pour through the ice and receive chilled . Last correspondence with the client was they are still recovering from the night.
127 ice table decorations
The brief:
An ice ball theme of127 tables decorations.
Result:
With a job of this magnitude it was important to know that the ice design was going to see the night duration. It was recommended on the back of Ice Occasions past experience the pyramid shape because of its smooth sides which would still look presentable at the end of the night when awards were taking place.
Winter wonderland theme in 40 degrees is possible
The brief:
Create a winter wonderland theme evening on a potential 40 degree day.
Result:
The design of the ice sculptures, timings of set up, and drain tray sizing were crucial in making this a success. Thick chunky sculptures were designed and carved to withstand the heat and extra large drain trays were specially designed for this job.

Adidas new product launch
The brief:
Product Launch of the new Addidas shoe Clima Cool .The new shoes concept was promoted as a shoe which keeps you cool whilst wearing them.
Result:
After extensive consultation with Ice Occasions a design of an ice marathon man was decided. The ice athlete stood approx 6 feet tall and was instrumental in portraying the message that Clima Cool keeps the end user icy cool
AFL Sculpture
Paul and the team were asked to be involved in the AFL “My club commercial” .The brief was to have an AFL footballer marking a sherrin with 2 horn of plenty ice sculptures beside to create one enormous impressive buffet decoration table. The advertisement was saturated on television and was a huge success in gaining awareness and increasing membership to AFL clubs
Channel 7
Ice Occasions was commissioned to ice carve the Channel 7 logo and ice sleds for the Winter Olympic coverage advertisement. There was no problems with the ice melting while shooting film at the snow here.
